Maggie Liu hails from the city of Xi’an, famous for its Terracotta Warriors and the birthplace of famous director Zhang Yimou. It was there where she obtained her Degree in Human Resources Management while working on the side as a local tour guide.

Lured by the bright lights of the big city, Maggie moved to Beijing where she worked in administration and senior management for various Chinese corporations. Over the course of ten years, Maggie has worked in the medical, real estate and outdoor advertising industries. This slew of dog-eat-dog jobs has directly influenced her “never say die” attitude.

Maggie joined The Bag Ladies thanks to a combination of luck and curiosity. One day when her sister was working as a production assistant on a TBL production and fascinated by the filmmaking process, Maggie asked to tag along just to see what life on a film shoot was like.

Since then, Maggie has never left and over the years have been tasked to oversee all financial and legal supervision as well as production management that comes through TBL’s doors.

More importantly, Maggie is a company partner and key navigator to TBL’s Chinese client relationships. With her deep understanding of the Chinese business culture and working process, she provides invaluable access and production solutions to these clients.
